Beverage: Snö @ Pavillion, KL

*update 30/11/12: All Sno outlets seem to have closed down :(

A few months back, my colleague Laura mentioned that there was a new drinks place soon to be opened in Sunway Pyramid. Sunway Pyramid is my regular joint for lunch on weekdays and when you're somewhere so often, you tend to get sick of everything there and hence, I was pretty excited to try it out.

Snö is the name of this new drinks booth (or perhaps parlour might be a more appropriate term, seeing the nature of their drinks) set to take the Malaysian milkshake world by storm. They have two ranges: Snöshakes, which are sinful milkshakes blended with ice cream and Snöothies, the healthier frozen yogurt smoothies option.

I tried it once at its Pyramid branch and immediately thought to myself, "I gotta get Adam to one of these", because if there's anything he likes, it's milkshakes.

I kept on telling him that he needed to try it so often that I think even he was a little taken aback. Finally when we were in Pavilion, we went to give it a go. A second try for me and a first for him.

What I think really sold the whole idea to me was that you get to pick your milkshake ingredients; to make things even better, these are actual chocolate snack favourites ranging from Snickers to Kit Kats, from Jaffa Cakes to Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, from Horlicks to Milo to even red bean! :D

I don't know about you, but that makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. (Adam: To me the display looked more like The Museum of Chocolate Confectionery :P)

To further appeal to the masses, it cleverly uses iPads as its ordering device. Mix and match your desired combination of ingredients, the application also totals up your price at the bottom so you don't go too overboard with picking toppings.

As it was Adam's first time, we took the easy way out and selected one of the Snöshakes from their aptly named easySnö selection which are tried and tested combinations. Our choice was the SnöSignature (RM 9.90 for regular and 11.90 for large) a heavenly sounding combination of vanilla ice cream, Nutella, Ferrero Rocher and Cadbury Flakes.

Well, heavenly it sounded, and heavenly it certainly was. The creamy concoction of vanilla ice cream laced with Nutella in itself was a joy; couple that with a tinge of nuttiness from the Ferrero Rocher and it quickly become one of my favourite drinks. We didn't get to taste much of the Cadbury Flake (as you can see in the picture above, it was used as a topping) which makes me think we can go without toppings to save a buck or two for more ingredients. :D

I was satisfied after our shared Snö and I think Adam was too. Mission accomplished.

I hear one just opened in The Gardens, so I'm sure this won't be the last we'll be seeing of this calorie laden cup of creaminess!
