Bloom The Floral Shop: Mother's Day Flower Giveaway!

Bloom The Floral Shop, at The Intermark
A good florist is like a good hair salon; you know there are plenty of them around, but you're not sure if other salons know how to suit your needs, your wants, your style. So most often we keep going back to the same, familiar place to fulfill our irregular need. We're thinking of one of those times of need is around the corner, what with Mother's Day only being 2 weeks away!

Unique window decoration

Enter Bloom The Floral Shop.

I'm not a regular patron of florists, so I won't say I'm an expert on all the local florists in town. Bloom The Floral Shop does have an established track record though, having been in the industry for 9 years already! (Back then, we didn't know each other yet - Wendy was topping her class in Form 4 and I was playing the fool as usual =P).

Totally bowled over by Bloom's charm instore
Lovely trinkets and decor that caught Wendy's eye
In recent years, Bloom become an online florist, branching out into taking orders online through their website, www.bloom2u.com, but they also have 3 brick-and-mortar outlets in IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara (formerly known as Ikano Power Centre), Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang, and their latest in The Intermark, KL. We stopped by the branch at Intermark where we snapped these photos of the place and of the freebie that we are giving away! But more on that later. =P

No, not the real thing... but awfully close!

Being primarily a flower shop, obviously they have a lot of flowers. What I didn't expect to see was the variety and quality of the artificial flowers they have in store! The artificial flowers at Bloom are all imported and handmade, from orchids to peonies to sunflowers. In fact, they look so close to the real thing that we were pleasantly surprised. I would think these are very popular as decor indoors.

Fresh lilies and gerberas in store today

Daisies and assorted wrappers for bouquets
But if you're the type that believes flowers should never be fake, Bloom also has a range of fresh flowers for you. Almost all the fresh flowers are kept refrigerated, so the freshness of their flowers is always guaranteed. =D

But don't say Bloom only deals in flowers! They also have a wide collection of charming decorative plaques for sale. These plaques are printed in Malaysia, but the pictures are actually posters painted from the US. So yes, these ain't your average plaques on the wall. =P

And there's more! Rustic, vintage-looking, photo frames made out of recycled wood are available for sale too. There's plenty of variety in shapes and designs, so finding the right fit shouldn't be a problem. It sure beats using the same old photo frame that everyone else has, like those from Ikea doesn't it? Especially perfect if you're one who likes a different touch. =D

The complimentary flower cake Wendy & I got to take home. :)
In the spirit of Mother's Day and love, Bloom also generously offered Wendy & I a complimentary flower cake arrangement to take home for our mothers, a 25cm high flower cake, featuring lilies, usually costing about RM 60. We were quite amused at the name "flower cake", but Angel, the florist on duty, explained that it was because it resembles a cake. Lol.

We can certainly vouch for the quality of the flowers and the great arrangement that Bloom provides, judging from the 'flower cake' that we received. But, this is only the one that we got - the one you could stand to get for your mother is even bigger!

Fancy winning one of these for your mom?

In conjunction with Mother's Day, we (or should I say Bloom?) will be delivering a flower cake that looks like that to your dear mother / grandma / aunty / godmother / sister / wife / basically, any mother! That flower arrangement is worth a cool RM120, so don't worry, no one is going to send your dear mother some cheapo looking flowers. =P

Since there's only one to give away, we unfortunately can only pick the most deserving winner. Here's how to qualify:

1. Click on our giveaway link here
2. Comment on the link - tell us why your mom/any mother you know is the best in the most creative way possible (keeping it short and sweet is fine with us, you don't have to write essays to be creative!), before the 9th of May 2012!
3. Wendy & I will be picking the most creative message, and will get in touch with the winner for their mom's contact details e.g. delivery address, mom's name, etc
4. Bloom The Floral Shop will send that gorgeous flower cake to your mom, absolutely free of charge!

Do take note that Bloom only delivers around Klang Valley, so unfortunately we can't extend this competition to those living outstation this time. Sorry!

On top of that, Bloom is also organizing a flower arranging workshop for kids on 11-13 May. Kids will get in touch with their creativity and learn to make similar flower cakes for mom for Mother's Day... imagine that! Seats are on a first come first serve basis, so don't wait too long to register. =)

A special commendation for Bloom must be given, for this free giveaway and for doing so much for Mother's Day. We think it's really great, as well as a fun way to remind everyone about how great, and how awesome mothers are. =D

So, if you're like me, and don't know anything about flowers (Wendy fed me with all the flower names in the post =P) or don't really know where to get the best flowers, Bloom The Floral Shop may just be the one-stop place for you. Or, if you're like Wendy, who likes doing everything online, their online presence at Bloom2u.com would work just as well too!

Remember to leave us your submissions for the giveaway here before the 9th of May!
