Dear Readers, it's been almost 3 long years since our last update. As with all blogs, especially couple blogs, there can only be a few reasons for lack of updates. One - the writers got tired of it, or Two - the writers aren't together anymore. Sadly for us, Two is the right answer. But still, just like how a child of divorced parents will always be their child, DoC to us will always be the baby we nurtured from nothing but a blank webpage. This labor of love may not be going on anymore, but I choose to leave our past writings here, as a testament to what we once were. Even if you don't know us as individuals today, at least you can see from our little space here, what we used to be together. ;)
But why an update after so long? Because today is a landmark of sorts. It's the day when you announced publicly on social media that you've started seeing somebody else. Sounds cheesy to feel like it's a big deal, but hey these days what updates go on Facebook have to be vetted through extremely carefully no? Nothing ever goes on public feed without first being double checked then triple checked to make sure everything is safe and not NSFW. So with such history being made today, I thought why not carry on with this good run of breaking new ground? :D
I'm not here to post some bitter rant or to take the spotlight off anything, don't get me wrong. I do have a message to convey. But how should I have delivered it? Facebook status update? (too obviously reactive and attention seeking)...PM on Whatsapp? (Possibly..but also rather direct and too reactive). Nothing seemed to fit. But then I remembered DoC, and the cobwebs lying around since 2014. So now, perhaps for the last time, I will write this short post and leave this message for you. I don't know if you'll ever come across it, but the words written here I feel will outlast words I write anywhere else. So if I had to choose the best place to write something down, it'll be here. Now, enough with the rambling and on with the message!
About 2 years ago, when I came to you in need, even though we weren't together anymore, you told me how you got through the rough days post-us. You told me how you discovered Running Man, and how Running Man made you laugh till you cried and for those few precious minutes, you got to let go of the sadness for a little while.
Fast forward to today, and call it a premonition if you must, but when I heard Running Man was going to end after 7 years, I knew something else must be coming soon. And sure enough, you've become comfortable enough to show your new best friend to the world today.
So my message is this :- I know you are heartbroken the show is ending. But you've found someone better than Running Man now. And perhaps this is the best time for you to end the show too. Because you can wave goodbye to Running Man, knowing you don't need it anymore. 😉
I'm happy for you. I really wish you all the best. Don't let him make the same mistakes I did. But don't always worry if one day it'll turn out the way we did. Because he isn't me. He's better than me. Because knowing you, you wouldn't settle for anything less. =)
